The objectives

The removal of obstacles and physical, sensory, and cognitive barriers that limit accessibility and participation in cultural heritage.

Overcoming this great challenge is the goal of Personeper. Accessibilità nei luoghi della cultura: an initiative that through the actions of education reaches those who work for cultural heritage institutions with knowledge, skills, and tools; through initiatives of dissemination and in-depth analysis encourages the community to reflect on themes, policies, and strategies of accessibility in a universal key.

personeper.it is part of the dissemination and deepening initiatives proposed by Personeper. Accessibilità nei luoghi della cultura:

On-line learning. The Courses

Four different education courses are addressed to specific types of professional figures.
The courses are available on demand at fad.fondazionescuolapatrimonio.it.

In-person training

The in-person training initiatives are designed based on a cascade empowerment effect. They are therefore widespread both in terms of territorial distribution and variety of cultural sites and professional skills reached.

Other initiatives

In addition to training activities, Personeper. Accessibilità nei luoghi della cultura carries out research activities, editorial insights, and dissemination initiatives.

  • In collaboration with the Department of Arts of the University of Bologna, a social science research investigates national and international policies and practices that have been implemented in the last five years to improve accessibility in museums, archives, and libraries.
  • A collection of three books, published by Nomos editor, addresses major themes: through foreign contributions translated into Italian for the first time, original specially commissioned contributions, and an array of illustrations, each publications tackle a macro-issue from a cross-sectional perspective of different cultural places.
  • A podcast, based on the idea that cultural heritage is either accessible or not, composes a journey of discovery into forms of relationship with people and society.
  • The website personeper.it hosts news, studies, practices, tools, photos, videos, and podcasts, as a place for reflecting, meeting, and dialoguing, open both to those who produce, promote, organize culture, and to those who access and participate in culture.
